This is the kind of scenery that awaits you.... sorry about the company though!
Since announcing the 7in7 to the world we have been inundated with enquiries from people who would like to join in the Challenge. With keen competition for places we had planned to hold an online auction for these spots, but for various reasons this idea has fallen from favour. Instead we’d like to offer the places to people who can offer the most assistance with our fundraising efforts. So here’s the new plan….
The following running spots are available:
Waikaremoana (Nov 29) – 1 place
Tongariro (Nov 30) - 1 place
Abel Tasman (Dec 1) - 2 places
Heaphy (Dec 2) - 2 places
Routeburn (Dec 3) - 1 place
If you are interested in joining one of these runs here’s what you should know:
- places will be given to the person(s) who pledge to raise the most money through personal sponsorships. We will set you up with your own online Fundraising page, but we will hold you to your pledge – any shortfall in donations will need to be made up by you personally! We would anticipate that a minimum pledge of $500 in sponsorships will be required (that’s just 20 people sponsoring you to the tune of $25). If you are out-bidded we will inform you so you can consider putting in another pledge.
- we will do all we can to assist you with transport, accommodation and other logistical backup. However, you should assume the worst and be prepared to organise and pay for all your own arrangements.
- be prepared to run at the pace of everybody else, not sprint off, not lag behind. It’ll be all about teamwork on the track and we will stick together at all times. The pace could get very slow, especially on the later tracks, as I will inevitably tire!
- be absolutely confident that you can run the distance – ideally you will have run the same distance within the last 3 months.
Okay, still interested? Here’s what you need to do…..
Send an email to mal@7in7.org.nz stating: YOUR NAME, AGE, TRACK YOU WISH TO RUN, AND AMOUNT ($NZ) THAT YOU PLEDGE TO RAISE FOR THE LEUKAEMIA & BLOOD FOUNDATION
If you are out-bidded we will inform you so you can consider putting in another pledge. We will review all final submissions and announce the ‘winners’ on 20th September, leaving you at least 10 weeks to train up.
Not interesed, but know someone who might be?
Please forward this link to them pronto!
