Will you be watching?

SPOT Lo RezOkay, this is one of the coolest and most exciting things to have happened since 7in7 was conceived – especially if you have any geek tendancies (which of course I don’t!). I recently heard about some great new technology called the SPOT satellite messager that can be used to track people wherever on the planet they may happen to be. Now this could be sinister, or it could be a brilliant way to share the adventure that is 7in7 with a wide audience. And in its more benevolent form it will allow anyone who is interested (yes, that’s YOU) to click on a link on our website and instantly see, using a Google Earth map, where on the 7 Great Walks we happen to be. How cool is that! The same device is currently being used by Steve Gurney @ co. as they race across North Africa on land yachts – check out www.madwaysouth.com

Salcom LogoSPOT is marketed in New Zealand by SALCOM and they are very kindly loaning us a unit to use in pre-Challenge trials and for the 7in7 itself. So you will be watching won’t you! Huge thanks to Gary Batey and team at Salcom for their support.

Love the new techie stuff…will certainly be following you on this during the 7in7. Can you let us know how to access it, or have a link on your web/blog page?

Yep, we’ll have a link set up from the website so the watching pleasure will be just a click away! I’ll be trialling this on some training runs so if keen to be a ‘guinea pig’ watcher please let me know!
