A fundraising triumph

Last night I was invited to give a short talk about the 7in7 at a wee soiree organised by the nicest real estate agent in Auckland, if not New Zealand, if not the world. The lady in question is Pene Milne of Pene Milne Properties, Herne Bay (part of the Premium franchise). Pene is an ardent supporter of the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation and saw this as a great opportunity to spread the word amongst her friends and clients. An inspired move as there was a great turn out and it provided me with a good opportunity to polish my rather rusty speaking skills. The audience was great and showed lots of enthusiasm for the Challenge. But the biggest surprise came at the end of the evening when Pene, bless her little cotton socks, produced a cheque for $1,000 payable to the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation. Pene, we can’t thank you enough but I’ll try…. thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you…..etc.
