This 7in7 thingy keeps finding new ways of challenging me. And providing new rewards. The latest twist is a sad one – my dear old mum is in hospital in England, very sick. I need to abandon plans for running Waikaremoana this weekend, and for a big week of running based at Karekare after that. Instead I’m jumping on a plane to England to see she who is so dear to me, and to support my dad (whose lust for Scottish mountains spawned my own outdoor passions). I will try to keep running while over there. I will try to keep on top of all the things that need organising. I will try to keep these blogs coming. The Challenge goes on! But what I really wanted to say is a huge THANK YOU to everybody who has been in touch today with their various messages of sympathy and support. Many of these people I didn’t know before embarking on this crazy mission – many I still haven’t met – and this is in itself a huge reward. So “THANKS”. I’ll be in touch again soon….
