My body is in England, my mind is ?????

When you run into a farmer who comments “you’re up early aren’t you?” you know you must be jetlagged. Actually, my first night’s kip wasn’t too bad but I was awake early and I was out at sparrow’s fart running through glorious Devonshire countryside. Glorious, that is except for the stinging nettles – just as well I’d been expecting cold weather and gone out in full leg tights! Given I’d just spent 46 of the last 48 hrs sitting on my butt or lying in bed this short run felt a lot better than I dared expect. A bit of a spring to the step and I was definitely getting up the hills a lot more easily than when I did this same run on my last trip over (in April, as 7in7 training was just getting underway). Weirdest thing I saw this morning? A field full of black sheep – all except the one white sheep of the family. Life in negative exposure…. maybe the jetlag is worse than I first thought!
