What a day!

crazy-days[1]From dawn to dusk it’s been a manic day here at 7in7 HQ. Media interviews, filming at the gym, logistics meetings and even a run back to the gym for my weekly massage. Then came a double wammy of great news…

  1. In yesterday’s blog I mentioned Dock Bay Lodge, Te Anau had made a very kind offer of accommodation that I had to turn down. Well, today they came back offering a gift package that we can auction off as a fundraiser. This includes:  two nights B&B accommodation for two at Dock Bay Lodge; a day trip for two with Trips & Tramps (“The Big Day Out” which includes a Nature Cruise on Milford Sound, an unguided hike to Key Summit or a guided Hollyford Valley tour) AND Dinner for two at Redcliff Cafe, Te Anau. Total value $1,600. This fantastic package will be placed for auction on Trademe in the next few days, all proceeds to the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation…. watch this space for an announcement.
  2. The latest readership figures for my Yahoo!Xtra blogs came in. Thanks to so many people answering the call we registered a massive number of page hits in October and as a result a cheque for almost $1,400 is on its way from Yahoo!Xtra to the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation – thanks Kevin & co. for your generous support. And on that note, the first of my seven ‘introduction to the 7 Great Runs’ blogs is now posted, so please check this out at http://nz.travel.yahoo.com/b/tales-from-the-7-in-7-challenge/35/day-1-waikaremoana to help us raise yet more much needed cash!

Phew, running the 7 Great Walks in 7 Days is going to seem like a holiday after all this!
