Elaisa Chapman is another person whose participation in this year’s Challenge so truly represents what it’s all about. This Alexandra-based runner lost her father to Multiple Myeloma (a form of leukaemia) in 2000 and his good friend died of Lymphoma (another form of leukaemia) two years ago.
Elaisa says “it is still saddening to remember what they both went through and what we, as family members, went through while trying to support them in their last months with us. I hope that my small effort goes a long way to helping those affected by Leukaemia and other blood related illnesses. I have always loved running, though not competitively, and will join Mal on two runs – one for Dad and one for Geoff – in the hope of raising $2,000 along the way. It seems fitting that Dad’s 10year anniversary is 25 November this year, days before the Day One run”.
Elaisa is running both Day 1 and Day 6 of the event – some 94kms in total. If you wish to show your support for her you can make a donation to the cause via her fundraising page. Thanks Elaisa and thanks to all 7in7 supporters.
